The Congress

The Atlas International Congress on Occlusion and Temporomandibular Disorders (AICOT26) brings together leading clinicians, researchers, dentists, surgeons, physiologists, and physiotherapists in Istanbul, Türkiye, for a two-day scientific program focused on contemporary approaches to occlusion, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), and multidisciplinary patient care.

Under the theme From Physiology and Functional Diagnosis to Multidisciplinary Management of Temporomandibular Disorders, the congress combines scientific lectures, live clinical demonstrations, case discussions, and multidisciplinary panels to help clinicians integrate objective measurements into diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management.

  • Understand the physiology and neurophysiology of the masticatory system.

  • Explore the clinical applications of Bio-EMG, Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA), and T-Scan digital occlusal analysis.

  • Learn how to integrate muscle, joint, and occlusal data into functional diagnosis.

  • Examine conservative and surgical approaches to TMD management.

  • Discover clinical applications of occlusal splints, oral appliances, and physiotherapy.

  • Develop multidisciplinary treatment strategies through interactive clinical cases and expert discussions.

Course Objectives

  • Masticatory Physiology: Understand neuromuscular control, jaw reflexes, muscle function, and functional adaptation.

  • Bio-EMG: Learn surface electromyography principles, clinical recording techniques, muscle activity analysis, and interpretation.

  • Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA): Explore TMJ biomechanics, joint vibration patterns, clinical applications, and functional assessment.

  • T-Scan Digital Occlusal Analysis: Understand occlusal timing, relative force distribution, digital recording techniques, and clinical applications.

  • Integrated Functional Diagnosis: Combine Bio-EMG, JVA, T-Scan, clinical examinations, and imaging to support comprehensive diagnostic decisions.

  • TMD Management: Examine clinical evaluation, differential diagnosis, conservative treatment, and surgical indications.

  • Occlusal Appliance Therapy: Explore stabilization splints, mandibular advancement appliances, fabrication, adjustment, and patient selection.

  • Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation: Learn applications of dry needling, manual therapy, massage, posture, proprioception, and balance rehabilitation.

  • Multidisciplinary Treatment Planning: Apply integrated diagnostic findings to complex TMD cases, treatment selection, and functional reassessment.

Continuing Education Credits

Continuing education credit information for AICOT26 has not yet been specified in the scientific program.

Congress Chairman – Dr. Serdar Gözler

Dr. Serdar Gözler serves as Congress Chairman of AICOT26, guiding the scientific program's focus on integrated functional diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of temporomandibular disorders.

Dr. Gözler leads discussions on the relationship between muscles, joints, and occlusion, emphasizing the importance of combining clinical examinations with objective functional measurements to develop comprehensive diagnostic and treatment strategies.

Throughout the congress, he moderates multidisciplinary case discussions, contributes to integrated treatment planning, and leads the AICOT26 Mastercase, bringing together faculty expertise in physiology, digital diagnostics, TMD management, surgery, and rehabilitation.

Featured Scientific Faculty – Dr. John Radke

Representing BioRESEARCH Associates, Inc., Dr. John Radke will present on the clinical applications of Bio-EMG and Joint Vibration Analysis (BioJVA) at AICOT26.

Through scientific lectures and live clinical demonstrations, Dr. Radke will explore how BioRESEARCH's diagnostic devices measure masticatory muscle activity and temporomandibular joint function, providing objective data to support clinical assessment and diagnostic decision-making.
